Incident Management

Make it safe → Tell the right person → Record it

1. Deal with the immediate situation
Make sure everyone is safe. Arrange first aid if required and take reasonable steps to prevent escalation. For an emergency or immediate threat to safety, call 000.

2. Notify the Venue Manager
All significant incidents should be brought to the attention of the Venue Manager as soon as possible.

3. Contact the Tournament Director for serious incidents
Serious injury, child safety concerns, a lost child, serious behavioural incidents, threats or violence, emergency services attending, or any situation where the Venue Manager needs assistance should be escalated immediately to Victoria Morton on 0417 597 643.

4. Record the incident
Complete the Hobart Cup Incident Report using the online form in the Venue Manager Hub. Record what happened factually, including immediate action and witnesses where relevant. If in doubt, submit a report.

5. Child safety concerns
Make sure the child is safe and notify the Tournament Director immediately. Do not investigate the matter yourself. If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.

6. Follow up
If an incident identifies a venue problem such as unsafe equipment, inadequate signage, field conditions or another hazard, take reasonable immediate action and notify the Tournament Director.

7. Confidentiality
Incident information should be treated confidentially and only shared with people who need it to manage the matter.
