Refund and Cancellation Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines the process for refunds and cancellations for teams registered to participate in the Hobart Cup. It aims to provide clarity and fairness to all participants while also ensuring the sustainability of the event. By entering the Hobart Cup, you acknowledge and accept the following policy.
1. Cancellation by Organisers
If the Hobart Cup is cancelled by the organisers for any reason (e.g., extreme weather, unavailability of grounds due to closure by ground owners, or any other unforeseen circumstances), refunds will be issued based on the following conditions:
No games played
A 50% refund of the entry fee will be provided.
One game played
A 25% refund of the entry fee will be provided.
Two or more games played
No refund will be provided.
These limits reflect the significant costs already committed by the tournment organisers well before the event begins, including ground hire, referee fees, medallions and trophies.
2. Withdrawal by Teams
More than 28 days before the event
Teams that withdraw more than 28 days before the start of the tournament will receive a full refund minus a $25 administration fee.
Less than 28 days before the event
Teams that withdraw less than 28 days before the start of the tournament will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Communication
Where a cancellation or significant disruption occurs, participants will be kept informed as promptly as possible via email and updates on the Hobart Cup website and social media, including at the point of any decision and once refunds have been processed.
4. Additional policy
All amounts referred to in this policy are GST inclusive.
Refunds exclude merchant and/or processing fees.
All refund requests must be made in writing via email to thehobartcup@bigpond.com.
By registering, teams agree to these terms.
5. Final Decisions
The Hobart Cup Administrator reserves the right to make the final decision regarding refunds, and will review circumstances on a case-by-case basis to ensure fairness and consistency.
